One-Day Grizzly Bear Tours

Classic Canadian Tours is thrilled to present the one-day Grizzly Bear Tour. On this magnificent tour, you will board a chartered aircraft and fly nonstop from Calgary or Edmonton to Prince Rupert, British Columbia, where you will be shuttled to a fully weatherproof 72-foot catamaran. You will begin the 7-hour tour to the pristine wilderness of the Khutzeymateen, home of the largest population of grizzly bears anywhere on earth.

Along the way, watch for porpoises, seals, sea lions, bald eagles, and blue herons as you learn first-hand about this diverse marine environment and about historic villages. Then, enter the rugged coastal mountains and the Khutzeymateen Valley where you will have a chance to see these legendary giants in their natural environment. Bear watching begins in the Spring when the grizzlies descend from their dens to feed on sedge grass along the lush shoreline. From the silence and safety of the boat, you may watch as they graze, often feeding on mussels and other sea treats. It is truly a photographer's paradise and will be the highlight of your summer. At the end of the tour, you are returned to the airport to check in for your dinner flight home!
