Itinerary and Maps

We will depart Calgary or Edmonton by chartered jet at 7:30 AM to maximize our grizzly bear viewing time in Khutzeymateen Valley, along the northern coast of BC. The flying time to Prince Rupert is approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes.

For the recently added Calgary departure on June 9th, the flight departs from Calgary at 6:45 AM and stops in Edmonton on the way to Prince Rupert.

Enroute to Prince Rupert you will be served breakfast while listening to a naturalist speaker entertain you with fascinating facts about the grizzly bears and other wildlife in the Khutzeymateen Valley. Once we have descended upon Prince Rupert our group will be shuttled to the dock, where we will board the Inside Passage for a 7-hour guided excursion. Inside Passage is a 72-foot catamaran, Canadian Coast Guard certified for 100 passengers featuring outer deck space and extensive floor to ceiling glass for unsurpassed viewing. Warm, luxurious and fast; Inside Passage delivers a unique and comfortable way to see the North Coast.

While on the cruise, we will find ourselves among the most fascinating wildlife and breathtaking scenery. It will take approximately 2 hours to cruise Chatham Sound. Upon arrival at Khutzeymateen we will spend 2 to 3 hours observing grizzly bears. Lunch will be served onboard the Inside Passage.

The afternoon cruise on Chatham Sound, as we return to Prince Rupert, gives us the opportunity to spot more wildlife. At day's end we cruise Prince Rupert Harbour and then shuttle back to the airport for our dinner flight home, arriving at approximately 8:30 PM.

For the recently added Calgary June 9th tour, the flight from Prince Rupert stops in Edmonton, and then continues on to Calgary, arriving at approximately 9:50 PM.
